El muro pantalla y la arquitectura introspectiva
Mi búsqueda se encuentra hoy en el mexicano sumergido en la locura de la ciudad mexicana, de caos, ruido y un frenetismo exacerbado.
Busco generar una arquitectura que permita a las personas desligarse un poco de la vida fuera del hogar. El género más hermoso para mi es la vivienda, es donde el sueño es vida y la vida es sueño, donde al final del día todo lo ocurrido parece desvanecerse detrás de las paredes de la casa.
El mexicano es un ser introspectivo, melancólico, que añora el pasado y teme al futuro. Si bien no guardamos toda esta imagen, nos define como humanos con dos caras, que por un lado pareciera que no podemos vivir sin otras personas, pero que somos más felices cuando estamos solos.
El laberinto de la soledad de Octavio Paz es un reflejo del mexicano como individuo, atrapado por una historia de conquista y lucha, donde el complejo de inferioridad nace aferrado a nuestra mente como una huella digital. Un tipo de hombre sumiso y a la vez brabucón, que vive en un conflicto por separarse de las 2 madres con la que nace.
Barragán nos presentó la arquitectura introspectiva con su casa perfecta, donde al cruzar el umbral del ingreso, a través de filtros vas desconectándote poco a poco del mundo real hasta quedar envuelto en un mundo personal. Con una arquitectura que es un reflejo de ti mismo.
En mi labor profesional he venido desarrollando un concepto de casa habitación que comprende estas ideas y trata (me encuentro en el constante intento) de conseguir descomponer la arquitectura en la menor cantidad de piezas posibles, hablando en términos espaciales, siguiendo las búsquedas de Mies Van Der Rohe, conseguir que el espacio fluya a través de los muros, donde la luz pueda filtrarse por todos los rincones. La luz forma parte fundamental de estas ideas, ya que pudiera creerse que generar una arquitectura amurallada tendría a ser oscura.
Creo que cada arquitecto debería de buscar algo, lo que sea, porque al igual que en cualquier arte, el buscar definir una idea, a través de intentos, conlleva a descubrir nuevas formas de expresión.
Casa Olguín (Casa No. 1) Olguín House
En la Casa No. 2 entre medianeras también, dentro de un condominio similar, llevé a cabo el mismo planteamiento, para crear esa relación exterior - interior volví a incluir el muro pantalla pero esta vez procurando no dejar huecos, a excepción de uno, que cubrí con una puerta de jardín, que permitía accesar desde la calle al jardín. Las dimensiones del jardín fueron más grandes, y la disposición de los espacios interiores de la casa me permitió conectar el jardín frontal con el jardín posterior (obligatorio por normativa) que había que respetar en la parte posterior del predio. Este movimiento me permitió crear dos jardines, con servicios entre ellos, lo cual genera una dinámica interesante, porque te desenvuelves sintiéndote rodeado por jardín, en una casa donde por las dimensiones del terreno y la normativa lo más obvio es ubicar el jardín en la parte posterior del terreno. Con un muro de 2.50mts de altura, el espacio delimitado por el muro pantalla se volvió más fuerte, más definido, la sensación de privacidad aumentó pero aún se percibía la exposición clara al exterior. //
Casa Vicencio (Casa No. 2) House No.2
Con la casa No. 3 actualmente en construcción, la idea del espacio y el muro pantalla adquirieron un nuevo sentido. El mecanismo del jardín hacia adelante del terreno es el mismo, esta vez no solo por gusto personal, la orientación del predio lo demandaba. Este fue el incentivo para repetir la fórmula, pero esta vez pude entender que como en la pintura, los elementos adquieren fuerza solo con el trabajo y la práctica.
Un muro pantalla de 3 metros de altura, un patio de 2.60mts de fondo y una especie de pabellón que alberga un ingreso - sala y comedor que producen una sensación de vació total por sus 10.20mts x 4.60 x 3.00mts. La delimitación de los usos se dará solo por el mobiliario. El espacio carece de columnas que lo interrumpan, y la relación del muro pantalla – patio y pabellón se vuelve transparente.
El muro pantalla surgió con la intención de otorgarle privacidad a la casa, lo cual queda cubierto en planta baja, ¿pero qué ocurría en planta alta?, el negar ventanas que se orientasen directamente hacia la fachada de la calle impedía al usuario una relación más rica entre el exterior y el interior.
Una vez poniendo atención a las pistas dadas por la orientación del terreno, pensé en prolongar los muros de planta alta por encima del patio y el muro pantalla, para así acobijar la casa con una especie de sábana blanca que permite una relación a modo de un patio que va de planta baja a alta, pero con otro mecanismo, que relaciona tanto la recamara principal y el estar con la sala, el ingreso y las cocheras.
El experimento está en proceso, el espacio más fuerte de la casa debe ser ese muro pantalla flotando encima de las cocheras y brindando una protección para los habitantes contra el exterior, pero regalándoles una comunión con el cielo. //

The screenwall an the Introspective Architecture
It is the architecture that turns to look at itself, to leave behind the distractions of the outside world, where the relationship between the inside and the outside exists, but it's quickly forgotten.
It is the architecture that seeks to create a space where intimacy is the ultimate gift.
Where the essential elements are the light, vegetation and space continuum that seeps through the house. There must be an indoor environment, able to keep the inhabitant absorbed of what happens outside . Only allowing you to save a relationship with natural elements.
That architecture says:
No matter what I look like I care how I feel.
The first house I designed under this line was the Olguin House, a very particular home because of their small size and restrictions of the condominium where is located. The idea, defining the interior space from the outside through a wall i got to maintain a relationship of direct space interior - exterior, while maintaining privacy for living and dining areas together to maximize the feeling of spaciousness of the house. I accomplished for the first time enclosing a house itself to a certain level, because the sides keeping the room was visible outside. You had to create a plant environment to cover the gaps.
In House No. 2 within similar condo, I conducted the same approach, to create this external relationship – including the screen wall again but this time trying not to leave gaps, but one, that covered with a garden gate, allowing access from the street to the garden. Dimensions of the garden were more large, and the arrangement of the interior spaces of the house allowed me to connect the front garden with the rear garden (required by law) that had to be respected in the back of the property. This move allowed me to create two gardens, with services between them, which creates an interesting dynamic, because you get on feeling surrounded by garden in a house where the dimensions of the land and the rules is the most obvious place the garden in the back ground. With a wall of 2.50mts high, the space defined by the screen wall became stronger, more defined, the sense of privacy increased, but the exposure to the outside even perceived.
With the house No. 3, currently under construction, the idea of space and screen wall acquired a new meaning. The mechanism of the garden forward of the lot is the same, this time not only by personal taste, the orientation of the plot demanded it. This was the incentive to repeat the formula, but this time I could understand that as in painting, the elements acquire strenght only by hard work and practice.

The experiment is in progress, the strongest area of the home should be the screen wall floating above the garage and providing protection for the people against the outside, but giving them a communion with the sky.
